Pelvic floor, pregnancy and postpartum — straight talk and concrete therapy
My name is Noemi Stanisławska. I have been a qualified physiotherapist since 2009, and for years I have worked on what people rarely say out loud: urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, postpartum scars and the problems women and men feel embarrassed to bring to a doctor.

A conversation about symptoms, births, procedures and daily habits. This is what sets the direction of therapy.

Six weeks is not a magic line after which the body repairs itself. Here is when to book the first visit and what happens at it.
Jaw clicking and morning headaches — when it is the temporomandibular joint
A headache from the moment you wake, worn-down teeth, cracking when you yawn. Usually not three separate problems but one overloaded joint.
Urinary incontinence after prostate surgery — when to start training
The best time to start pelvic floor training is a few weeks before the operation, not a few months after it. Here is why that matters.
What patients say
Reviews collected on my znanylekarz.pl profile, where appointments are booked.
- Professionalism
- Empathy
- Thorough history taking
- Concrete recommendations
- Unhurried examination
- Fast results
For a very long time I had a problem with severe pain during intercourse, which caused a great deal of frustration. After the very first visit I felt enormous relief.
I followed all the recommendations and every problem disappeared as if by magic. I would never have believed the results would come so quickly. An angel of a woman.
Noemi is an outstanding specialist, and I came to her with a specific problem. The visit took place in an exceptionally comfortable and pleasant atmosphere, which matters enormously in pelvic floor physiotherapy.
She took a very thorough history and then explained the causes of my symptoms in detail and in plain language. She not only found a solution but also prepared a set of specific exercises for me. I was given very precise instructions on how to do them, so I feel confident exercising at home.
I warmly recommend her to any woman looking for professional support delivered with empathy.
Noemi took a very long and detailed history, asking many questions about the problem itself and about other conditions, illnesses and my way of life.
After the history she examined me, set out a treatment plan and gave me recommendations for exercises at home and for changing certain habits in everyday activities.
I am very pleased with the visit, because Noemi found problems that other therapists had missed, and I learned several new things. Every question I asked got a full answer.
I came to the practice with postpartum complications (a third-degree perineal tear). Therapy is ongoing; so far I have had two visits, at which I was examined thoroughly, a detailed history was taken and I was given a plan of action for the coming weeks — clearly and efficiently.
Whenever I had questions or doubts, Noemi was available by chat, which shows real commitment. The therapy is due to last around 10 weeks: alongside weekly visits I do a specific set of exercises at home every day.
Noemi is the person I had been looking for for years. Someone who will not tell me that rushing or force are the key to healing. Someone who patiently explains the problem, advises on the right approach and effective methods, and warns against the mistakes people make knowingly or unknowingly.
From the moment I walked in I felt looked after, and I left more satisfied than ever. I got so much useful information and advice, and on top of that I felt physical relief after the visit.
I recommend her wholeheartedly, especially for persistent jaw joint problems.
I am extremely happy with the visit. Noemi is professional and committed, she makes sure you are comfortable and she explains everything carefully. I felt I was in good hands and very well looked after.
I can already see the first results of the exercises I was given and I know exactly what to do next — I feel positive about the work ahead. I recommend Noemi without reservation and I will certainly come back if the need arises.
During the visit I learned a great deal about looking after the pelvic floor muscles — some of it I had never heard before. The examination was unhurried and took place in a comfortable atmosphere.
I was given guidance on exercises and on how to observe my own body. I recommend her to every woman preparing for birth.
A very comfortable visit; I learned a lot about my own body (the gynaecologist I saw the same day had not noticed what Noemi did), I was given recommendations and answers to my questions. Recommended.
A very professional approach to the patient. I am pleased with the visit. A detailed history, a specialist examination and, at the end, concrete and understandable recommendations. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable specialist.
Frequently asked questions
These are the questions I hear most often before a first visit. If yours is not here, call me — I will answer in a few minutes.
Do I need a referral from a doctor?
No. You can book a private visit directly, without a referral. If you have test results, an operation report or a hospital discharge letter, bring them — they shorten the history taking and help match the therapy.
What does the pelvic floor examination involve, and does it hurt?
The functional examination covers posture, breathing and pelvic floor function, and where appropriate an internal examination. It should not hurt — it is done slowly, with every step explained, and always with your consent. You can decline at any point, and we then work with other methods.
How should I prepare for the first visit?
Bring comfortable clothes you can move in, and any medical records you have. You do not need to come fasting or with a full bladder. It helps to think beforehand about when your symptoms get worse and what triggers them — that is the most valuable information in the whole history.
How long does a visit take and what does it cost?
An in-person visit takes about an hour and costs 200–220 PLN. The first appointment is largely history taking and examination, so there is less hands-on therapy than at later visits.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on the problem and how long it has been going on. Recent complaints sometimes need only 3–4 sessions. Problems that have dragged on for years take longer. After the first visit I will tell you plainly what to expect, together with a home exercise programme — that programme is what sets the pace of progress.
Is physiotherapy safe during pregnancy?
Yes, provided your gynaecologist has not identified contraindications. I match the therapy to the trimester and to how the pregnancy is going. In a high-risk pregnancy, with bleeding, a shortening cervix or preterm contractions, we postpone the visit until you have spoken to your doctor.
When can I come after giving birth?
Usually around week 6–8 after birth, following your gynaecological check-up. If the birth was instrumental, or there was an episiotomy or caesarean section, come straight after that check-up rather than waiting. If years have passed since the birth, therapy still makes sense.
Do you see male patients?
Yes. I provide urological and proctological physiotherapy for men — most often for urinary incontinence after prostate surgery, overactive bladder and chronic pelvic pain.
Can I bring my child?
Yes, you can come to a visit with a baby. I am a mother myself and I know there is sometimes no alternative. Let me know when booking so I can allow a little extra time.
How do I book a visit?
The quickest way is through znanylekarz.pl — you can see the available slots and book online. You can also call 502 439 844. The form on this website is for questions, not for booking appointments.
