Proctological physiotherapy is the area people talk about least, and one that affects a great many of them. Embarrassment means patients often arrive years too late — even though the anal sphincters and pelvic floor muscles are muscles like any other and respond just as well to training and manual therapy.
I work both with women after instrumental deliveries and perineal injury, and with men after pelvic surgery. Therapy always follows an examination and runs alongside treatment led by a proctologist — physiotherapy does not replace it, but it clearly improves the results.
What you can come with
Incontinence of gas and stool
One of the most embarrassing complaints and one of the least often reported — although symptoms usually improve markedly with therapy alone.
